Status Advantage (Study Abroad Advantage)
  • Ontario's unified provincial exam, in order to receive the OSSD diploma.
The Ontario high school grading system uses a combination of regular grades (70% of total grades) and final exams (30% of total grades) to determine non-examined school grades instead of standardized exams, and only 12 years of grades are required for university applications, no SAT or Advanced Placement exams are required. It avoids the "one test for life" situation, and if the grades are not satisfactory, you can retake courses to remedy and improve, which is a highly humane setting.
